Aston Villa have ordered their kit makers Castore to provide new jersey for their men’s and women’s first-team immediately.

Aston Villa made this order owing to the fact that their current first-team jersey is giving the player issues as it is ‘too sweaty’.

Villa have seen their men’s team transform under manager Unai Emery and shown their resilience to remain relevant.

The Premier League side went from being a relegation-threatened club to playing in Europe in less than one year.

This transformation will always be ascribed to the one man who made it happen at the club that almost lost all hope last season.

Aston Villa secured their Europa Conference League place last season and they have equally started well in the 2023/24 Premier League season.

Aston Villa have already picked up 12 points from their opening six games and are currently in sixth place in the table.

Unai Emery’s men are undoubtedly playing quite well at the moment, however, there’s one issue – their teams’ jerseys.

The players have been wearing new Castore shirts this season but despite their form this season, they aren’t too happy with the jersey.

The players have subsequently complained on several occasions that their jerseys are always too sweaty during matches.

Aston Villa have been experiencing inconsistent plays on the pitch and the players are attributing their poor run to their jersey.

Aston Villa players have been getting drenched in sweat early on in games, and the squad believes it is making the kit heavy and affecting performances.

Villa’s women’s team will also adorn the same jersey this weekend for their WSL opener and are believed to be ‘dreading’ the prospect of playing in the ‘wet and clingy’ shirts.

The complaints against Villa’s jersey is quite an unusual complaint however, it is not the first of its kind in the Premier League.

Recent reports have it that Newcastle ended Castore shirt sponsorship after complaints about jersey quality – though they have debunked the rumor.

The British sportswear manufacturer signed a deal with Magpies in 2021 and will end their relationship with the club at the end of this season.

The recent complaint by Aston Villa players have put Castore under fire in recent days.

The players also revealed that the jersey becomes ‘too sweaty’ just within minutes of match action.

Villa star Rachel Daly tweeted that the club had played a pre-season friendly in training kit rather than the 2023-24 strip, but later deleted the comment on X (formerly Twitter).

Aston Villa are one of the oldest and most successful clubs in England, having won the Football League First Division seven times, the FA Cup seven times, the League Cup five times, and the European Cup and European Super Cup once.

The club’s colors are a claret shirt with sky blue sleeves, white shorts with claret and blue trim, and sky blue socks with claret and white trim.

Castore is their kit manufacturer for the 2023–24 season and company BK8 as the shirt sponsor and trading company Trade Nation as the sleeve sponsor.

    Villa Under Unai Emery

Under Unai Emery, just Arsenal, Liverpool, and the two Manchester clubs have taken more points than Villa since the Spaniard replaced Steven Gerrard in November 2022.

Emery, who left La Liga outfit Villarreal to take the job at Villa Park, has shown that he is and will always be a top manager.

Unai Emery has taken Aston Villa to 17 wins and just seven defeats from his 28 Premier League matches in charge of the club.

Last season they finished in seventh position, securing a place in the Europa Conference League which was their first since 2010.

Their FA Cup 2-1 loss to Stevenage was one major match the players bitterly complained of their sweaty jersey.

However, despite the jersey issues, Aston Villa bounced back to beat Leeds United and Southampton to maintain their excellent 2023 form.
