Despite the cry of most Barcelona fans against Arthur Melo leaving the club for Juventus, the board of Barcelona has successfully executed it. Arthur has already signed a 5-year deal with Juventus and has already completed his medicals with the Turin based club.

The 23-year-old Brazilian midfielder has become a delight for the fans of Barcelona but that would not stop the club from striking a swap deal which would see Miralem Pjanic come to Nou Camp and the departure of Arthur to Italy.

Arthur has never been a party to the deal as he has always insisted that he would want to continue his development and career with the Spanish La Liga giants. He had to be prevailed upon to accept the swap deal.

Since the youngster joined Barcelona from Brazilian club Grêmio in 2018, he has not had the best of chances to prove himself the more but that has never bothered him. Though the deal is now sealed, the Brazilian has agreed to remain at Barcelona until the end of the outgoing season.

Arthur will stay with Barcelona and help the club to execute the remaining games in this season UEFA Champions League before he will unite with his new team for next season engagements.

The manager of Juventus, Maurizio Sarri, has revealed how much he admires the youngster and how he plans to build Juventus’ midfield around the Brazilian when he finally joins the Turin based club.

So far this season, he has played 28 times for Barcelona, scoring 4 goals and making 4 assists. He is mostly used as a substitute in most of the games he has played. Altogether, he has played 385 minutes for Barcelona in all competitions.

In the other hand, Miralem Pjanic who is a 30-year-old midfielder has also completed his medicals and has agreed to replace Arthur at Barcelona. The swap deal is reportedly worth about €50.5 million.

Reports say Barcelona paid €10 million in addition to Arthur to bring the Bosnia-Herzegovina midfielder to the club. It is also reported that the 30-year-old star signed a four-year deal with Barcelona but would remain at Juventus until the end of this season and the completion of this season’s UEFA Champions League.

So far this season, Miralem Pjanic has played 36 times for Juventus, scoring 3 goals and making 4 assists, meaning that Arthur has had a better season than him statistically.
