Ahead of the crucial match against Manchester United, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has updated the progress report of the squad at Emirates.
Arteta, in a press conference, outlined some players that have been struggling with match fitness. Ghanaian midfielder, Thomas Partey, Dani Ceballos, Pablo Mari, are all on the injury list.
The Spaniard had no other option than to rotate the squad over fixtures against Southampton in the FA Cup and Premier League due to injuries.
“We had a day off yesterday. We will be training today and we will see how everybody is,” he started in a press conference
He said Ceballos will be in the squad in a matter of days, including the Spain International Pablo Mari. He made mention of the newcomer Martin Odegaard, saying both Emile Smith Rowe and Party have knocked against the Saints last Tuesday.3-1 it ended.
“I think Dani Ceballos will be training with the squad in the next few days, Pablo Mari probably as well.” He assured
“Martin Odegaard will be joining us as well. For the rest, we have to see how Kieran is.” He added
“I don’t know let’s see how they come today, they have some discomfort in different parts Thomas and Emile.”
“We will have to see how they evolve. We still have some days until the game, but not long so let’s see how they recover.”
Gunners will be to fight the Red Devils for points next Saturday, Solskjaer’s army lost to Sheffield United on Wednesday night, but they might be a threat to the North London side.
“We know that it’s going to be difficult,” he admitted
“They’ve been in top form. They’ve been top of the table playing well.
“We know they are a real threat. So we have to be at our best to beat them on Saturday.”
