Arsenal set to battle Man Utd for £42m Parma star Dejan Kulusevski

Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester United are set to battle for the signature of £42m-rated Parma and Sweden international Dejan Kulusevski.

The 19-year-old who is on loan from Italian side Atalanta is really enjoying a stunning season in Parma. Kulusevski came through the academy at Atalanta, after moving over from Sweden in 2016.

Kulusevski was available for just £8.5million during the summer. Now the midfielder’s value has increased due to his stellar performance in Serie A with Parma.

According to reports, a number of other top European clubs including Juventus and Inter Milan are also keen on snapping up the player. Kulusevski has made 13 appearances for Parma so far this campaign, scoring three goals. His latest was during a 2-1 win over Napoli on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the midfielder made his senior international debut in November and some of the Premier League’s big clubs have sent scouts to watch him in recent weeks, including United and Arsenal.

Kulusevski’s agent is believed to have already met clubs over a transfer move next season and his value could go up if he performs well for Sweden at the upcoming European championships.

Despite interest in him, the player has said that he has no intention of leaving Parma or a move away from the Serie A in January. According to the 19-year-old, he is happy playing football at Parma.

He said: “I’m fine at Parma, I’m happy to be here, I’ve found the perfect club.

“The market? I’m playing well, so it’s normal to write about other clubs, but I don’t think about (a January move) because I have an annual deal with Parma.”

It is understood that despite their Champions League exploits and the cash benefit they will receive from having qualified for the knockout stages, Atalanta are likely to cash in Kulusevski during the transfer window.
