Out-of-favor Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has broken his silence on reports linking him to a move to Premier League rivals Newcastle United.

The Three Lions shot-stopper has managed just six starts for Arsenal this season. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta prefers Brentford loanee David Raya as the Gunners’ first-choice goalkeeper to Ramsdale.

After a jittery start to the campaign, David Raya, who was vigorously defended by Mikel Arteta, has proven his mettle this term.

He won the Premier League Best Goalkeeper with the most clean sheets. The Spaniard’s prolific record means Ramsdale may not regain his starting berth in the Gunners’ squad.

The England international’s lack of game time with the Gunners will affect his chances in the England squad and international career.

With his misfortunes at the Emirates showing no sign of abating, there have been reports linking him to a summer exit from the club.

Some reports added Newcastle United are on the fast lane to sign the 26-year-old and have agreed personal terms with the player.

Reacting to the rumors of his imminent exit to Newcastle United, Ramsdale took to his social media handle to debunk the reports.

Taking to X, he dropped a three-word response, “News to me,” adding a laughing emoji.

Despite refuting claims of an imminent move to Newcastle United, close sources have revealed Ramsdale could still leave Arsenal this summer to save his career with Newcastle United his most likely destination.

It is understood Newcastle United are in search of a younger goalkeeper with their top two stoppers Martin Dubravka and Nick Pope in their early 30s.

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is also said to be a big fan of Aaron Ramsdale, having worked with the player previously at Bournemouth.
