Arsenal Display Class By Paying Tribute To WWE Star Bray Wyatt

Arsenal showed class with a lovely tribute to the deceased WWE legend Bray Wyatt who died on Saturday 27th August, 2023.

Arsenal, who have won the English League 13 times, played Wyatt’s WWE theme song “Broken in Love” by Mark Crozer.

Wyatt’s untimely death at the age of just 36 has seen massive tributes from the wrestling community and also, other sports entertainment industry at large.

The Gunners have had a special tie with WWE for a while now, with the stadium’s DJ playing wrestlers’ theme songs sometimes.

Gunners walked out to WWE wrestler Kane’s theme song for a home draw with Manchester United back in 2021.

Arsenal fans also saw the stadium’s DJ play Kurt Angle’s theme song at half-time that same year.

Recall we reported that Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw at the Emirates after Joao Palhinha pulled a late one back for the visitors.

Fans adored the tribute to Wyatt, with one saying: “Those in charge of Arsenal’s music are 100% wrestling fans, Angles music, The Game all played before.”

Another fan also added: “Arsenal always plays wrestling themes at halftime, so their sound man had a perfect tribute space.”

With a third fan adding that: “He’s still got the whole world in his hands” – a reference to one of Wyatt’s theme songs of “He’s got the whole world in his hands”.

Wyatt’s unexpected death has shaken the wrestling community and saw massive tributes from across the industry including Arsenal.

Triple H, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, and former superstar broke the news of Wyatt’s passing, in a tweet he said: “Just received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda, who informed us of the tragic news that our WWE family member for life Windham Rotunda – also known as Bray Wyatt – unexpectedly passed earlier today.”

“Our thoughts are with his family and we ask that everyone respect their privacy at this time.”

The Rock also added: “I’m heartbroken over the news of Bray Wyatt’s passing. Always had tremendous respect and love for him and the Rotunda family. Loved his presence, promos, in-ring work, and connection with the WWE universe.”

Arsenal were not left out in the show of love, as we mentioned earlier, the club chose its halftime break against Fulham to give tribute.

Mick Foley, WWE commentator, and legendary wrestler, wrote that: “I thought so highly of Bray Wyatt… He was a true visionary; one of the most compelling presences that wrestling has ever seen.”

Though Arsenal failed to get all three points against Fulham in a match that they started from behind, that didn’t stop them from paying tribute to Wyatt.

Wyatt had not appeared on TV screens since February after reportedly suffering from the effects of long COVID-19.

However, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful attributed it to a heart attack.

Writing in regards to this, he said: “I was given permission to reveal that earlier this year Windham Rotunda (Bray Wyatt) got COVID that exacerbated a heart issues.”

“There was a lot of positive progress towards a return and his recovery. Unfortunately today he suffered a heart attack and passed away.”

Rotunda’s official cause of death has not yet been confirmed by family or authorities.
