Veteran defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos has welcomed his third child into the world after his wife put to bed.
On Thursday, the 32-year-old announced the birth of his second daughter, after his wife, Xanthippe Stamoulaki, gave birth to a baby girl.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos got married to his partner Xanthippi Stamoulaki in 2014 and since their marriage, the couple has maintained a low profile.
The newborn girl joins her brother and six-year-old sister called Chara Papastathopoulous.
The Greece international, who plays for Arsenal in the English Premier League, took to social media to share a picture of him carrying the newborn baby.
Sharing the snap on his social media platform, he captioned: “Amazing feelings this morning. Our second princess is here. Welcome baby! #familyof5 #babygirl”
Arsenal also joined the celebration on social media, congratulating their star player and his wife on their childbirth.
The former Borrusia Dortmund defender had a decent season for Arsenal despite spending some time on the sideline.
He featured in 39 appearances and registered three goals in all competitions for Mikel Arteta.
The defender has also been linked with a move away from the Emirates before his contract expires.
He earlier indicated he would not see to the end of his present Arsenal deal should he failed to gain more game time action under Arteta.
When asked about a possible exit he said:
“I don’t know,”
“I have one more year here but me, I never sit on my contract.
“I don’t care. If I’m not happy, I don’t play enough or the coach doesn’t like me, I don’t care about the contract.
“For me, the money is not important, it is important I feel good, I feel happy and the team is happy with me. If not, I take the road and I finish.
