Argentina players celebrated their World Cup trophy by partying till daybreak in Doha after a historic win over France.

Argentina captain Lionel Messi and Co finally broke a 36 years jinx to win Argentina’s third World Cup trophy after a heated World Cup final clash against France.

After the match, Lionel Messi was handed football’s greatest trophy in Qatar’s Bisht – a traditional Qatar gown won on special occasions, symbolizing dignity, honor, prestige, and class.

After receiving the World Cup trophy, Lionel Messi led the Albiceleste in a wild celebration which continued long into the night – and through to daylight. They were spotted enjoying a ‘romantic’ dinner of Milanese, fried eggs, and fries.

At the center of the dinner party was the World Cup trophy, with images on the players Instagram accounts showing the team eating around a table with the World Cup in the middle.


Elsewhere, midfielder Enzo Fernandez, who impressed at the tournament, posted a video on his Instagram account of Lautaro Martinez looking worse for wear with his World Cup winners’ medal around his neck

Paulo Dybala, who scored a penalty in the shootout, shared a photo of the team enjoying their ‘romantic’ dinner.


However, as he panned around in the video, the World Cup trophy was on display in the middle of the room as the Argentines continued to enjoy their triumph.

Penalty hero Emi Martinez also shared some snaps from the celebrations as players relaxed and played snooker, while one photo also seemed to show them enjoying a game of FIFA.

Argentina are set to take off from Doha at around 2pm on Monday to return to Buenos Aires for an emotional homecoming.

There is a stop-off in Madrid on the way, with the team expected to land back home between 10pm and midnight (GMT).

An official celebration with fans is planned on Tuesday – although a time and place is not confirmed yet.

Following their victory, the trophy lift took place on the Lusail Stadium pitch before the jubilant players took the party back to the dressing room.

Messi led Argentina’s World Cup celebrations with the star seen dancing on top of a table in the changing rooms – in footage recorded by Sergio Aguero.

After getting on the table, Messi was joined by his teammate Lautaro Martinez who jumped up to dance with the World Cup trophy.

The former Barcelona star then partied with the $10m cheque Argentina were given after winning the final.

The chanting went quiet whilst Messi was being presented with the cheque but when it was handed over to Argentina’s No. 10 normal service resumed and the champions chants started back up again.

After Messi finished dancing around the table with the team’s £10million cheque, the players then decided to venture into a less orthodox way of celebrating the victory.

The plunged themselves into a bin that was kept in the dressing after one of the players started it with cheers from his teammates.
