Tottenham Hotspur and Antonio Conte have held crisis talks following a stunning verbal abuse on his players with the club chairman Daniel Levy set to gauge the verdict before concluding on his head coach’s future.

Antonio Conte, the Italian manager laid into his players during a row of explosive post-match interviews in which he queries the team’s intention and attitude.

The former Inter Milan and Chelsea manager remarked during a heated press conference, “The club has the duty for the transfer market, any coach who remains here has the obligation. What about the players? The players? The field is empty, where are the players?”

Conte also appeared to aim at the Tottenham board during his remarkable and unbelievable rant.

The 53-year-old Italian coach said; “twenty years have passed, and the owner still has nothing to show for it. Is this the fault of every manager who has worked here, or just the current management”?

Conte seems to have gotten himself into some trouble with Spurs chairman Levy after making those remarks.

But, during discussions on Saturday night, 18th of March 2023, it was reported that Conte stressed to members of the board that his words were directed solely at the players and not at the management.

It has been reported on Sunday morning 19th of March 2023, that Levy has agreed with Conte’s statement, and the Italian would remain the club’s coach.

Levy is to discuss the situation with his closest advisors this week, therefore the former Chelsea manager’s job is still in jeopardy.

Levy has plenty of time to make a reaction because Tottenham won’t play until April 3rd, 2023 when they travel to Merseyside to face Everton.

As a result of their draw against Southampton, Tottenham remains in fourth position in the Premier League rankings, but they are now just seven points ahead of eighth-placed Brentford, having played one more game than the Bees.

The 53-year-old current contract expires after this season, and there are no signs that he will sign a new contract shortly.

Legendary Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher stated that Conte was trying to be fired after the Italian’s comments and the 3-3 draw against Southampton.

Meanwhile, according to reports, some Tottenham players were rocked by the manager’s rant and would be happy for Conte’s departure during the International break.

What’s next for Conte and Tottenham?

Hopefully, the manager will be in charge when Tottenham Hotspur travels to Merseyside to face Everton at Goodison Park on Monday, April 3rd, 2023.
