Anthony Martial, France International’s wife is said to have dumped him after he slept with French model Malika Semichi while Melanie Da Cruz was eight-months pregnant in 2019, as his miserable season on and off the field continues.
On loan from Manchester United, the forward has failed to establish form at Sevilla, where he signed for the remainder of the season in January.
According to a story in the Daily Star, Martial’s wife Melanie Da Cruz has dumped him.
The project in Sevilla was persuaded by the Frenchman’s representative, but the plan has gone from “poor to worse,” according to Spanish media this week. Martial will not be retained by Sevilla, who will allow him to rejoin United this summer due to his lack of influence.
Martial’s wife, Da Cruz, a French TV celebrity with whom he shares a four-year-old son Swan, said on Instagram that “love wasn’t enough.” She expressed her “suffering” in French, saying, “Sometimes to win a race, you have to stop running.”
“Things aren’t going wonderfully for Martial on the pitch, and it appears like life at home has been tough too,” a person close to the couple is quoted as saying in the newspaper.
Melanie’s statement surprised her followers, and it’s likely the cherry on top of a rough few months for Anthony. They’ve had their ups and downs. All they care about now is their son’s well-being and raising him peacefully.
Anthony Martial and Melanie Da Cruz met in 2016 after Martial’s divorce from Samantha Jacquelinet, with whom he has two daughters. Martial had an affair with French model Malika Semichi when Da Cruz was significantly pregnant, according to reports in 2019.
The United loanee has failed to score in seven league games for the Spanish club, and has appeared less and less dangerous with each passing week.
Although he has one assist, the Frenchman’s influence at Sevilla has been lackluster, especially given the amount of hype surrounding his debut in La Liga.
“I have to help him achieve his greatest version,” Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui stated this week of the striker’s circumstances. He must do his share and adhere to our requests.” The former Spain and Real Madrid coach did not sound enthusiastic about the player, and he made a point of mentioning his lack of form.
Prior to his departure, Anthony Martial made an 82nd-minute substitute appearance in United’s 1-0 win over West Ham in late January, although that was his first appearance for the club since a two-minute cameo against Arsenal on December 2. After losing his starting spot under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Martial was unable to persuade Ralf Rangnick that he was still a viable option.
The 26-year-old has only scored two goals for his two teams this season: an early-season Premier League strike in a 2-2 draw against Everton in October and a Europa League goal for Sevilla against Dinamo Zagreb.
Following the additions of Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo, he had slipped behind a slew of attacking players in United’s squad, with Anthony Elanga’s rise pushing him lower down the pecking order.
When he joined United from Monaco in 2015, he was the most expensive teenager in the world, but he has failed to live up to his early potential, despite scoring 79 goals in 269 games for United.
