Ansu Fati played a key role in the 1-1 tie between Barcelona and Olot in the second half of their first preseason friendly. The youthful player entered the game in the second half while wearing the captain’s armband.
That demonstrates the No. 10’s significance in Barcelona. Even though the forward, who is 19 years old, is still a young adult, he was one of the team’s more experienced players during the friendly. He hadn’t been able to play in a while, so he wanted to proceed with caution.

Ansu Fati age
Ansu Fati’s full name is Anssumane Ansu Fati Vieira and he’s a Bissau-Guinean citizen but plays for the Spanish national football team as a forward.
Fati was born on the 31st of October 2002 (age 19) in Bissau, Guinea Bissau into the family of Bori Fati and Lurdes Fati. He grew up in a small west African nation of Guinea-Bissau with his parents before he migrated to Spain where he currently plays for FC Barcelona and the country’s national team.
Ansu Fati’s injury history
Fati has been one of the best players in the Barcelona senior team and is likely the next player to fully replace Lionel Messi’s legacy at FC Barcelona (if that is possible).
Amid such a tall dream, the 19-year-old has always struggled with his fitness as he usually gets injured.
Ansu Fati has missed more than 80 games for Barça because of injury. A mix of knee and hip issues hampered his early development but it was the Mensical Laceration in November 2020 that saw him miss 10 months of football.
Ansu Fati jersey
The 19-year-old started his senior career at Barcelona with the number 22 shirt and he instantly became a top player for the club. He later switched to the number 17 jersey before getting his hands on the legendary No.10 – a famous jersey previously worn by legends like Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho, and Rivaldo at the Spanish club.
Ansu Fati’s salary
Fati signed a new contract with Barcelona last year which will keep him at the club until 2027. The new contract comes with a huge $1.16 billion release clause as the Spanish giants try to keep him away from other clubs.
Since the 19-year-old has been impressive since he joined the club, he would always go home with a $2.6 million salary every year until 2027.
Where’s Ansu Fati from?
Fati is originally from Bissau, Guinea Bissau, an African country. However, he moved to Seville when he was just six years old and started playing for the Sevilla youth team.
The young striker later signed for Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona in 2012 at the age of 10 before playing for the senior team in 2019. Ansu Fati’s older brother, Miguel Fati, is also a footballer in Spain.
