The manager of Juventus, Andrea Pirlo said the club’s talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo “is fine” at the club despite viral speculations linking him with a move out of the Italian side after the club was knocked out of this season’s UEFA Champions League campaign.

On March 9, 2021, Portuguese club, Porto succeeded in knocking out Juventus from the round of 16 stage of the European competition on away goals rule. Afterward, reports went viral that Ronaldo might exit the Italian club next summer.

One of the clubs that the Portuguese football star was linked to was Real Madrid but the coach of the Spanish side, Zinedine Zidane failed to confirm or debunk the speculation when he was asked about it recently.

Also, Ronaldo took to his Instagram account during the weekend to share a goodwill message in which he declared his commitment to Juventus. In his Instagram post, the Portuguese star said the focus of the club has been shifted away from the Champions League to the league game against Cagliari scheduled to take place today, March 14 at 18:00.

Cristiano Ronaldo wrote: “More important than the number of falls you take in life, is how fast and how strong you get back on your feet… True champions never break! Our focus is already on Cagliari, in the Serie A struggle, in the Italian Cup final, and in everything that we can still achieve this season.

“The past indeed belongs in museums (I should say!), but fortunately, football has memory… and so do I! History can’t be deleted, it’s written every single day with resilience, team spirit, persistence, and lots of hard work. And those who don’t understand this will never achieve glory and success.”

Ahead of the Italian Serie A match against Cagliari, Andrea Pirlo said Ronaldo was just disappointed that Juventus could not make it beyond the round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League this season but his commitment to the club is still unquestionable.

He insisted that it was normal that people speculated about Ronaldo after Juventus’ exit from the competition because the 36-year-old football star is the most important player in the world like his career rival, Lionel Messi.

“Ronaldo is fine”, Andrea Pirlo said. “It’s natural he is disappointed by what happened the other night, as is everyone. He trained well and has recovered to play tomorrow (today) night.

“It’s natural there are rumors after the elimination, as he is the most important player in the world along with Lionel Messi. He has always done well for us, scoring 90-odd goals and more than proved his worth.

“The project started in recent years planned the enrichment of the squad with players of a certain pedigree. It’s impossible to create a team just of young players. This was the initial project and it will be for the future as well.”

Cristiano Ronaldo who joined Juventus from Real Madrid on July 10, 2018, for €117 million still has until June 30, 2022, before his contract with the Italian giants will expire. He has scored 20 Serie A goals and provided 2 assists in 22 league games so far this season.
