American football legend Tom Brady has joined Birmingham City as a minority owner months after his retirement.
Tom Brady exited the NFL in February 2023 after a great career at the Patriots and has now chosen to expand his area of interest into football.
According to the BBC, Tom Brady is joining Birmingham City as a minority owner and will partner with the club’s new owners, Knighthead Capital Management LLC, who bought over the club in July, to return the club to elite level performance.
A statement by Knighthead founder, Tom Wagner, confirms Brady will join the club both as an adviser and an investor committing his resources and expertise to the services of the Championship side.
“Tom is both investing [as well as] committing his time and extensive expertise.
“As chair of the advisory board Tom will have a direct impact on the club. The men’s, women’s, and academy teams are going to benefit from [his] knowledge,” Wagner said.
Tom Brady’s involvement in Birmingham City has been seen as a positive development for the club who will be hoping to earn promotion to English topflight as they set out for the 2023/24 Championships season.
