Arsenal young talent Amario Cozier-Duberry had reportedly turned down a new contract offer by the club.

The London-born attacking midfielder is set to leave Arsenal after an ill-fated spell in the Gunners’ first team.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta reportedly considers Cozier-Duberry a great prospect for the club and was intent on having his contract renewed. The former Chettle Court Rangers FC youth player also earned rave reviews from Arsenal U-18 head coach Jack Wilshere but has struggled to nail home a spot in Arsenal’s first team.

He signed his first professional contract with the club in 2022 and was promoted to the Gunners’ first team.

While the potential of the youngster was not doubted by the club’s coaching crew, he was still considered below the pecking order in the club’s star-studded squad.

Sources close to the club reveal Arsenal had initially planned to loan out Amario but could not do so after the player rejected the new offer last summer and was entering the last lap of his contract.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed Amario is in search of a new club away from Arsenal after turning down the club’s new proposal.

“Amario Cozier-Duberry, set to leave Arsenal as a free agent at the end of June when his contract ends,” Romano tweeted.

“Arsenal offered Amario a new deal, but he decided it wasn’t the best option for his development.

“He’s now assessing options around Europe with several proposals.”

Chettle Court Rangers FC Academy in 2019 before being scouted into Arsenal Academy that same year after he shone bright for Chettle Court Rangers in a youth tournament. Arsenal first took him on a 10-week trial before drafting him into the club’s Academy. After standout performances with Arsenal youth, the youngster was promoted to Arsenal’s first team in 2022.

Although he was called up eight times in Arsenal’s squad for competitive matches, he could not make his debut. Meanwhile, he starred for the club’s U-21, scoring 18 goals with 10 assists in 48 appearances.
