After the Toffees were soundly defeated by Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon, the 12th of November, 2022, tempers flared, and Everton winger Alex Iwobi witnessed his shirt being thrown back at him by an angry fan.

Stewards intervened, and Iwobi, Lampard, and Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford were all finally taken to safety.

After heated exchanges between club players and fans at the final whistle during Everton’s humiliating 3-0 loss at Bournemouth, Frank Lampard said he understands the fans’ outrage.

After winning the Carabao Cup in midweek, Bournemouth defeated Everton twice in quick succession thanks to goals from Marcus Tavernier, Kieffer Moore, and Jaidon Anthony. As a result, Everton suffered its sixth loss in eight games.

At the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, Bournemouth ran riot to continue their good start to the Premier League season and secure themselves a victory before the World Cup break. Everton was far from their best throughout the game.

After the game, the away fans became enraged with their team and voiced their displeasure as Everton’s players walked over to celebrate them.

Some unpleasant situations then broke out in the away end before numerous police officers and matchday officials intervened to keep things under control.

The spectators quickly voiced their displeasure, and Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was spotted arguing with numerous fans at the side of the field before turning his back and leaving the scene.

Iwobi then threw his shirt into the crowd, only to have it thrown right back at him by Everton supporters who were in no mood to feel sorry for the Toffees team after yet another abject defeat.

It is obvious that current club events are making Everton supporters very unhappy.

Everton manager Frank Lampard made an “I’m sorry” gesture to quiet the crowd, but it had little effect on the ire of the traveling fans who had traveled far to Bournemouth to watch a haphazard team effort from their players.

With only one win in their previous five league games, Everton dropped to 17th place, only one point above the relegation zone, and Lampard began to feel the heat.

Following his team’s Carabao Cup exit on Tuesday to the same opponents after a 4-1 thumping, Lampard had to take players away from the situation as he struggled to restore control and apologized to the crowd.

Everton’s Premier League survival is once again in jeopardy, but Lampard, who managed to keep the team from going down last year, may not be retained.

Lampard will be looking to take advantage of the international break after his team has lost their previous three games in all competitions, including three straight losses before the World Cup. When they play Wolves on Boxing Day, they’ll try to return revitalized.
