Alejandro Garnacho has been chastised after annoying Erik Ten Hag and his team-mates by “showing signs of approval” on a social media post.
The 19-year-old liked a post suggesting he was unfairly treated by Ten Hag when he was substituted at halftime during the Red Devils’ 2-2 draw against Bournemouth on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
The post which took a dig at Erik Ten Hag was made by Manchester United fan and journalist, Mark Goldbridge.

Goldrbridge wrote on Twitter: “Ten Hag subtly blaming Garnacho in the post-match press conference…not a good look throwing a 19-year-old under the bus who has actually delivered for you this season.
“But then again he’s clearly scared of upsetting the bigger earners.”
Alejandro Garnacho’s actions upset Ten Hag and other players, who felt let down by his behavior.
The Dutch tactician addressed the issue with Garnacho during training on Sunday, April 14, 2023, and the club considers the matter resolved.

They believe it is not up to the level of Jadon Sancho, as the Argentina international corrected his errors by hastily removing his likes off those posts.
Alejandro Garnacho’s frustration likely stems from his recent illness and limited training time before the match.
He had only trained for the first time on Friday, April 12, 2023, and was then replaced by Amad Diallo at halftime.
It is understood that Garnacho sustained an injury in training on Friday and did not travel with the squad to Bournemouth.
