Saudi Arabia’s Pro League Giants Al-Hilal have made an approach to sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid and are ready to offer a loan deal for the player until June 2024.
Al-Hilal are ready to offer €15 million to Atletico Madrid to tempt the Portuguese to consider a move to the club.
The Saudi Arabia Pro League will continue its transfer policy with Al-Hilal, who are one of the biggest spenders in the league and are backed by the Public Investment Fund.
The Al-Hilal approach to signing Joao Felix is a step towards getting another European player after the club failed to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Kylian Mbappe and Napoli Striker Victor Osimhen.
There are reports that Jorge Jesus, Al-Hilal’s manager, telephoned Joao Felix several times on the said transfer interest.
However, it was reported that Atletico Madrid are not interested in a loan move and want to consider selling Felix on a permanent deal.
The Portuguese player had attracted interest from Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Atletico Madrid winger Felix’s priority remains to stay in Europe. Barcelona are looking forward to making Felix replace outgoing Osumane Dembele.
The player revealed his desire to play for Barcelona saying ”It’s always been my wish, since I was a child. If this happens, this would be a dream come true for me”.
With Felix’s contract ending in 2027, offloading him to another club doesn’t seem like an easy task for the Atletico Madrid board.
Joao Felix is currently training alone as he waits for Atletico Madrid to decide his future before the end of the transfer window.
