Al Ettifaq are reportedly ready to sign Nottingham Forest flop Jesse Lingard on a pre-contract agreement.
The Saudi Arabian club have been impressed with Lingard’s performances in training since he joined them on a trial spell earlier this month.
Lingard is a free agent after leaving Nottingham Forest in the summer. He had a disappointing stint with the Tricky Trees, but he is hoping to revive his career in Saudi Arabia.
According to Fabrizio Romano, “Al Ettifaq set to offer Jesse Lingard a pre contract for 2024 as their squad is full until January.
“Gerrard wants to sign Lingard, he trained at top level in Saudi; Henderson and Wijnaldum also pushing for him to sign.
“Final decision will be up to Lingard soon.”
Al Ettifaq are managed by former England captain Steven Gerrard. Gerrard is a big fan of Lingard and believes that he can be a valuable addition to his squad.
If Lingard does sign for Al Ettifaq, it will be a major coup for the club. He is a former England international and has won numerous trophies with Manchester United. He is also a very popular player with fans around the world.
It remains to be seen whether Lingard will accept Al Ettifaq’s offer. He is also reportedly considering offers from clubs in England and other European countries. However, Al Ettifaq are confident that they can persuade him to join them.
