Ajax defender Daley Blind collapsed on Tuesday during pre-season friendly against Hertha Berlin after the implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) inverted into his heart stopped goes off.
The 30-year-old defender had been diagnosed with a heart condition in December 2019 after suffering from dizziness during a Champions League game against Valencia. This led to the ICD surgery before he returned to action in February. View this post on Instagram

Speaking after the game, Ajax boss, Erik Ten Hag said the former Manchester United defender was feeling “OK” after being substituted.
“Daley Blind’s ICD went off. He got subbed off straight away and he is feeling OK now, he is feeling fine.
“We will do research about this now,” Ten Hag told Dutch TV station Ziggo Sport.
There was concern in Amsterdam on Tuesday after the defender went to the ground with no player near him. They quickly rushed to his aid as he collapsed to the floor in the closing stages of the match.
Daley Blind feels good
Although reports from the Dutch club say the defender “feels good under the circumstances” after visiting the training ground.
“He [Daley Blind] will be examined further and await the results of these tests before resuming training.”
The device is expected to constantly monitor and regulate the heart’s rhythm.
Blind returned to where he started his career in 2018 after spending four years with The Red Devils. He made 68 appearances for his boyhood club in 2018.
The Netherlands international has also made 68 appearances for the Orange.
Ajax will begin the Dutch Eredivisie season on Sunday, September 13. Blind’s participation is now in doubt due to his latest health scare.
