Nigerian Superstar Adekunle Gold grows his art as Manchester United featured him in their unveiling of a new streetwear.
Manchester United shared a picture of Adekunle Gold on their official social media page on Tuesday, 12th September, 2023.
In the post shared by the Red Devils, Adekunle Gold, who is a big fan of United, is pictured wearing the newly released LFSTLR jersey designed by Adidas.
Adekunle, 36, who is popular for hit tracks like “Sade”, “Ire”, “Pick Up”, and “High” ft Davido, was seen wearing a hoodie of the wear.
The music star is one of the celebrity who modelled the Adidas Street-wear brand.
Adekunle Gold looked stunning in the outfit which was aimed at allowing fans show support while being stylist too.
The award-winning star is the ambassador of the Manchester United edition which is created for fans to show their passion in style and comfort.
The outfit features lifestyle-focused adaptations of the 2023 season’s third kit for some top clubs including Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Manchester United, and Real Madrid..
The music star was joined by other international superstars including American Grammy-nominated rapper Pusha T who designed the Arsenal version and Mexican rapper Alemán who designed the Real Madrid’s.
Manchester United took to their social media account to post the outfit with caption: “Introducing the LFSTLR range — inspired by the game, made for the culture.”
The Red Devils also tagged the music sensation Adekunle Gold and Twin sisters who are also music stars with stage name The K T N A.
Manchester United in a club statement on their website also added how the concept by Adekunle Gold is for “fans who want to show off their club pride in style and comfort.”
The LFSTLR jersey is said to be made with “heavier superior fabrics for added comfort and a premium trim execution,” unlike the regular jerseys.
United also added that: “Some traditional on-pitch elements have been reduced or even removed, resulting in a clean and crisp look that emphasises the club crests.”
“Notably, each jersey is made from 70 to 100 percent recycled or renewable materials, demonstrating adidas’s commitment to sustainability.”
Who Is Adekunle Gold?
Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko, known professionally as Adekunle Gold and AG Baby, is a Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter currently signed to Def Jam Recordings.
Adekunle Gold was born on 28th January, 1987 and he gained widespread attention after releasing the 2015 hit single “Sade”, a highlife cover of One Direction’s “Story of My Life”.
The star signed a record deal with YBNL Nation and released his 2015 debut studio album Gold, which debuted at number 7 on the Billboard World Albums chart.
Gold was preceded by the release of three singles: “Sade”, “Orente” and “Pick Up”.
Adekunle Gold revealed to Nigerian Entertainment Today that prior to signing with YBNL, he designed the label’s official logo and completed other designs for Lil Kesh, Viktoh and Olamide. In 2023, he released “Tequila Ever After”, his highly successful fifth studio album.
