Richarlison has admitted that he needs psychological help when the English Premier League returns after the International break following his goal-scoring drought.

The former Everton striker has been struggling to find his scoring form since his 60 million pounds transfer to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2022.

During the recent international matches, the 26-year-old was spotted in tears after being subbed off in Brazil’s 5-1 victory over Bolivia on Saturday, 9th of September.

Richarlison lost an incredible opportunity before being substituted in the 71st minute in Brazil’s home World Cup qualifier match in Belem and was also replaced in the 64th minutes into Tuesday’s 1-0 triumph over Peru in Lima.

The Brazilian international forward has only managed to score four goals in 40 appearances for the North London outfit since his move to Tottenham.

Speaking to Brazil outlet O Globo about his recent disastrous form, Richarlison said; “I went through a turbulent time off the pitch during these past five months”.

“Now things are a bit more stable at home. People who only had their eyes on my money are no longer close to me”.

“Things are going to flow now and I’m certain that I will have a good run at Tottenham and will make things happen again”.

He added; “I’m going to return to England and seek psychological help, from a psychologist, to strengthen my mind. That’s what it is about, to come back stronger”.

The former Everton striker also recounts his relationship with long-term representative Renato Velasco and the publication revealed that both parties have paths ways.

The Tottenham striker claimed that he’ll seek the help of a psychologist to boost his game and break his deadlock after returning from international duty.

The 24-year-old forward is yet to see the back of the net in the English Premier League this current campaign, he scored just once for the London club side in 27 league games last season.

Richarlison saw his goal for Brazil ruled out by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) against Peru on Tuesday, 12th of September.

The last time he scored for Spurs was in August 2023, in the EFL Cup which saw his side suffer a defeat at the hand of Fulham. He has been given a bigger chance as Tottenham’s No. 9 this season following the departure of Harry Kane but things has not been going according to plans for him.

The 24-year-old striker has claimed that he’s been affected by off-field situations over the previous months due to a recent dispute with his agent Velasco.
