Italian giant club, Juventus might be left with no choice than to release Cristiano Ronaldo for a fee as low as £50 million to his former club Real Madrid due to the bad effect coronavirus pandemic. Some uncleared reports in Italy suggest that the Italian top dog club might have to sell the 35-year-old Portuguese star to alleviate their financial burden as a result of the novel Covid-19.

Italy is reversed as the hardest-hit country with coronavirus, the number of infected victims in Italy stands at 139,422 and over 17,669 have died so far. This has caused the government to put a stop to every business activity in the country including football. The Italian top football league Serie A has been on hold for almost a month now and this has caused football clubs to have landslide shortage in terms of revenue.

Reasonably, most clubs in Italian Serie A might not be able to meet up in terms of payment to their players especially players that earn as much as Cristiano Ronaldo. Expectedly, Juventus might have difficulty in paying Ronaldo over £600, 000 weekly wages.

Moreso, speculations revealed that Ronaldo still has a great penchant for his former club, Real Madrid and he’s most likely to return to the club. As a matter of fact, one of Ronaldo’s national teammates Jose Fonte revealed that Ronaldo loves the Los Blancos club. The Portuguese star won four Champions League titles with Real Madrid in nine seasons he spent with the club.

Fonte who won the Euro 2016 alongside Cristiano Ronaldo stated that the five times Balon d’Or winner has a strong tier with Real Madrid.

Quoting his words while speaking with talkSPORT : “I know he loves Madrid, that’s for sure,” Fonte, who along with Ronaldo helped Portugal win Euro 2016.

“It’s clear that he loves the club itself, it’s one of the biggest clubs in the world, if not the biggest.

“He’s left many, many friends there and he’s always left the door open. So I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes back to Real Madrid.”
