With numerous new entrants, including Paul Scholes and Didier Drogba, the Premier League’s Hall of Fame has nearly quadrupled – but no Liverpool players.

Patrick Vieira and Wayne Rooney were announced as the ninth and tenth honorees in March, and they are now joined by six more.

Former Manchester United midfielder Scholes and ex-Chelsea striker Drogba are the club’s most notable additions.

Scholes’ former teammate, Danish goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel, Manchester City duo Sergio Aguero, and Vincent Kompany, and legendary former Arsenal striker Ian Wright are also inducted. No Liverpool players join Steven Gerrard on the list, which may surprise some, with Jamie Carragher, John Barnes, Robbie Fowler, and Michael Owen all missing out.

‘It’s a unique feeling to be inducted into the Hall of Fame,’ Scholes said.

‘It’s a tremendous feeling to be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame among so many fantastic players who have previously been voted in and who are being honored today.’ ‘Im so privileged’

‘It is a true honor for me to be admitted into the Premier League Hall of Fame,’ Drogba remarked. My time with Chelsea was extremely precious to me, and I’m so proud of all we accomplished as a team.

‘It makes me very pleased to be in the Hall of Fame with some of the great players I played alongside and against.’

‘Hall of Raasclart Fame, you know,’ Wright tweeted, following by, ‘You have to remember that throughout the majority of my football adventure, I was a defender.’

‘So to do that, to appreciate the times I had with fans and teammates, and now to win this award is a tremendous honor,’ he says. I am truly humbled and grateful.

‘I’m incredibly honored,’ Schmeichel remarked. When I was a kid in Denmark, I used to dream of playing for Manchester United.

‘The team I was a part of was so brilliant that winning the Premier League once was remarkable, but we felt we had to keep it to prove ourselves, and winning five titles was a dream come true for me.’

A public online poll and selections from the Premier League Awards Panel were used to choose the half-dozen new nominees.
