Paris Saint Germain forward, Neymar Junior is said to be running the French club and hardly trains with the rest of his teammates at the club.

The 30-year-old Brazilian forward is said to be the highest-earning player at PSG and so much is expected of him due to the amount of investment the club has made to keep him at the club.

Recall that on August 3, 2017, Paris Saint Germain decided to pay FC Barcelona a whopping €222 million to bring Neymar to Paris. The signing was expected to help the French giants win the UEFA Champions League which has eluded the club for over 50 years.

But Neymar’s arrival at the club has only helped them to reach the final of the tournament in the 2019-2020 season.

In the club’s push to win the title, they decided to bring in Lionel Messi from FC Barcelona. But the arrival of the seven times Ballon d’Or winner has not also helped the French side to actualize their dream.

Things got so bad that PSG were knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid despite having a 2-0 aggregate lead. After the 3-1 defeat in Madrid which led to PSG’s exit from the Champions League, Neymar and Messi were booed by the club’s fans.

Aside from not performing to expectation, Neymar has a very high tendency of being injured. Due to his fitness issues, he has managed to play 21 games in all competitions this season in which he scored five goals and provides five assists.

Despite his low productivity at the French side, Neymar is earning nothing less than £2.8 million per month. Hence, the club’s fans are no longer interested in having the 30-year-old Brazilian at the Parc Des Princes.

How Neymar is currently running PSG

French journalist, Daniel Riolo and Neymar.

Neymar junior who has until June 30, 2025, before his contract with PSG expires is said to be uncontrollable at the French club.

After Monaco thrashed PSG 3-0 in a French Ligue 1 game last week, reports surfaced that Neymar hardly trains and no one dares to force him to do so.

Not only that, whenever the footballer decides to join the team in training, he often shows up almost drunk.

Though he just renewed his contract with PSG last year and was among those who convinced Messi to join PSG, it was reported that the Brazilian forward is no longer interested in playing for the French side.

Recently, a French journalist, Daniel Riolo RMC Sport accused Neymar of being in a spirit of revenge and PSG’s fans are tired of the player’s antics.

“Neymar hardly trains anymore, he arrives in a sorry state, almost drunk,” Riolo said.

“That’s the way it is, Neymar is in a spirit of revenge against PSG…

“PSG fans don’t give a s**t about Neymar’s antics or his Netflix documentary,” he added.

“We have to sign his check and let him go. He’s doing a lot of damage to the club. Let him go, he is ruining PSG.”

Despite the alleged indiscipline that the Brazilian footballer has been displaying, the hierarchy at PSG seems not to be taking any action against him according to Riolo.

“PSG are no longer a club,” the French journalist noted.

“There is no common thread. The coach no longer exists, the president has not said a word.

“After such a disaster, the bolts should have been tightened. But, nothing. Neither from [sporting director] Leonardo nor from [president] Nasser Al-Khelaifi. Nothing. A total defeat.”

Since Neymar joined PSG for a world-transfer record fee worth over €222 million, the 30-year-old Brazilian footballer has scored 92 goals and provided 57 assists in 137 games in all competitions for the French side.

He has also helped PSG to win three French Ligue 1 titles, three French Cups, and two French League Cups.
