Former American football quarterback Tom Brady took to his Twitter account hours before Tottenham Hotspur played against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday, March 12, to predict a win for the host.

In the tweet which generated over 113,000 likes, over 9,000 retweets, and over 1,750 quotes, Tom Brady described the Premier League game as a Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United and Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur’s show.

Brady who is regarded as the greatest quarterback of all-time in the National Football League (NFL), noted that though he was supporting Manchester United to win the game, that would not stop him to pump his fist if Harry Kane scores.

The NFL legend tweeted: “Here we go! @Cristiano vs. @HKane. I might fist pump if you score Harry but I’m riding with
@ManUtd today.”

Though Brady received a series of bashing for supporting Manchester United ahead of the game due to the club’s inconsistency in recent times, his decision to support United to win the game paid off.

The Premier League game was purely Ronaldo and Harry’s show. Ronaldo scored the opener in the 12th minute outside the eighteen yard box. But Harry Kane canceled the goal in the 35th minute via the spot-kick.

In the 38th minute, Ronaldo restored Manchester United’s lead through a tap-in which was almost canceled by the VAR. But after minutes of review, the goal stood.

Unfortunately for Manchester United, the Harry (Maguire) in United’s squad decided to have his name on the scoresheet against his team. The captain’s own goal in the 72nd minute almost ended the game in a 2-2 draw.

However, Manchester United that enjoyed just 43 percent of the ball possession as against Tottenham Hotspur’s 57 percent ball possession were able to earn the maximum three points thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo’s 81st-minute header.

Ronaldo’s hat-trick ended the game 3-2 in favor of the Red Devils. It returned the Red Devils to the top four with 50 points in 29 games, two points above 5th placed Arsenal that have four games in hand.

Though there are a lot of differences between Tom Brady and Cristiano Ronaldo it seems they have a cordial relationship going on between them.

Brady is a 44-year-old American who made his name and fortune as an American football quarterback. He played in the NFL for 22 seasons, 20 seasons at the New England Patriots, and the last two seasons at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Before he retired from the sport in 2021, he earned himself the greatest of all-time tag in the sport. Tom Brady won a record seven Super Bowl Championship and won a record five Super Bowl MVPs.

On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo is a 37-year-old Portuguese who made his name and fortune as a football (soccer) player. He is regarded by many as the greatest of all time in the game.

Unlike Brady, the football icon is still very active. He has played for Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.

Ronaldo is the most successful player in the UEFA Champions League which he has won five times. He is also the all-time highest goalscorer in the Champions League.

Ronaldo is among the very few players to win the Premier League title, the Spanish La Liga title, and the Italian Serie A title. To cap it all up, the Portuguese football icon is the all-time highest goalscorer in international football. He is now the all-time highest goalscorer in the history of football with 807 goals. Ronaldo has won five Ballon d’Or and is the first player to win two FIFA The Best player of the year.

The greatness and the longevity of Ronaldo and Brady have made them very close. After Ronaldo scored a hat-trick to help Manchester United beat Tottenham Hotspur, FOX Soccer shared a video showing Ronaldo and Brady having a chat on the pitch at Old Trafford. The media outlet tagged it “Goat talk”.

In the same vein, Manchester United verified social media platforms shared a video showing Ronaldo and Brady meeting after the Premier League game. The NFL legend was heard telling Ronaldo that the Portuguese star had a great game.

Also, before the Premier League game between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, Brady shared a clip on Twitter showing Ronaldo in a screen recorded Instagram live making the legendary “siuuuu” sound.

Hence, the bromance between Ronaldo and Brady might just be one aspect of sports entertainment that might keep people talking for a very long time.
