Ansu Fati breaks yet a record of the youngest goalscorer in Champions League

Lionel Messi replaces himself with the La Masia product, Ansu Fati as he becomes the youngest goalscorer in Champions League history.

The Barcelona youths who just got promoted to the team A this year, Carles Perez and Fati destroy Inter. The Champions League clash between Antonio Conte’s side and the Catalans was a great showdown.

However, the 2-1 home-loss to Barca injures Inter’s progression to the last 16 of the competition. The heavy blow from the match will now proceed them with playing in the Europa League.

The 23rd-minute Perez opener got an equalizer from Romelu Lukaku a minute to end the first half. And Fati replacing Perez in just five minutes to end the match scored a winner one minute after his substitution.

So, the team did well even without the Barca star Messi. According to information, the 17-year-old forward has three goals since joining Barca’s first team. With two in La Liga while one in Champions League against Inter on Tuesday.

He now has three goals in all competition at 17

He beats the earlier youngest goalscorer in the competition, Peter Ofori-Quaye. Peter scored for Olympiacos when he was 17 years and 195 days, while Fati is 17 years and 40 days.

Meanwhile, Barca’s head coach Ernesto Valverde praises the two young Catalans.

”They are two players who have reached the first team this year. Young players, very young in the case of Ansu,” said Valverde.

“The game was complicated, especially for Carles Perez because they had an experienced defence and he started. But he has a goal because he hits the ball well.

“Ansu has been going through some physical difficulty, with some discomfort, but he is a born scorer.” he ended.
