Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly not happy at Manchester United and is already considering leaving the club as soon as possible.

Recall that last summer, the 36-year-old Portuguese forward decided to leave Juventus and returned to Manchester United where he played between 2003 and 2009.

His return to the Premier League club was one of the biggest stories last summer. He started his campaign at Old Trafford excellently before things began to go sour for him and the club.

So far in his second era at Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 13 goals and provided 2 assists in 20 games in all competitions. However, his effort seems not to be enough as Manchester United are currently occupying the 7th spot with 28 points in 17 games.

The aim for the club was to compete for the Premier League title this season but they are currently 19 points away from first-placed Manchester City. Now, their aim is not to contend for the title but to get a place in the top four.

The aim received a huge blow on Monday, December 27, when Manchester United failed to beat relegation-threatened Newcastle United. The league game ended in a 1-1 draw.

During the game, United’s coach, Ralf Rangnick used his traditional 4-2-2-2 formation paring Cristiano Ronaldo and Mason Greenwood upfront but the formation left the Portugal international frustrated throughout the game as his teammates found it difficult to connect with him.

Reports claimed that Ronaldo is not only unhappy about the performance of Manchester United, but the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is reportedly not pleased with the method of Ralf Rangnick who was appointed to serve as the club’s interim coach until the end of the season.

Though the German tactician has not recorded any defeat since he became the coach of the Premier League club, Ronaldo reportedly feels uncomfortable with the coach’s tactics.

Hence, the former Real Madrid star reportedly contacted FC Barcelona veteran defender, Gerard Pique to ask whether he could play under coach Xavi.

According to a report by a Spanish publication, Mundo Deportivo, Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has contacted the president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta to inform him of Ronaldo’s purported interest in Barca.

Reports in Spain claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo who is arguably the most successful player in the UEFA Champions League is willing to play in the Europa League if he signs for Barca in January.

Recall that Laporta almost brought Ronaldo to FC Barcelona in 2003 but Manchester United were able to hijack the deal then but the football administrator might not be willing to sign the 36-year-old Portuguese football icon now that he is on the verge of retiring from the game.

If Cristiano Ronaldo managed to abandon his contract with Manchester United which will expire on June 30, 2023, and sign for Barcelona, he might occupy Lionel Messi’s house in Castelldefels, a suburban town just outside Barcelona.

Messi lived in the house for years before he left FC Barcelona last summer for Paris Saint Germain. The house is reportedly 20 Km away from Camp Nou.
