Tottenham Hotspur winger Steven Bergwijn suffers an ankle injury, expected to miss the rest of the season

Tottenham Hotspur winger, Steven Bergwijn is expected to miss the rest of the season following an ankle injury he suffered during Spurs’ last game against Burnley. The 22-year-old Netherlands winger was substituted during the Premier League game on Saturday against Burnley which ended with a draw.

No one knew to what extent the injury is likely to last, reasonably, after the match the management of the team disclosed that the winger had suffered a significant sprain to his left ankle and faced an “extended period of rehabilitation. The injured player will likely miss the remaining games of this season.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur top scorer Harry Kane and sensational attacker Son Heung-min both have been out of the Premier League following a long term injury. Also, Moussa Sissoko is fast recovering from the injury he had on January 1 causing him to undergo surgery to fix the medial collateral ligament in his right knee.

Furthermore, defender, Ben Davies is expected to return in one or two weeks’ time after he suffered an injury blow. Tottenham Hotspur is expected to take a fight to Germany Leipzig, for the return leg of the Champions League games. The first leg of the match didn’t end well for the English side as they suffered a gory defeated from their visitor.

However, Tottenham’s boss Jose Mourinho is quite confident that his side will wrought wonders in Germany on Tuesday night. Despite the number of injured players, the Portuguese man still believes strongly that his team can make it happen. In his words, “I’m very motivated, I’m very calm and very positive”.

“We have to be all together. I believe in the boys and I think we can make it.”

Also, Spurs attacker, Dele Alli just like Jose Mourinho is quite positive about the winning of the team on Tuesday night. According to him, this trying time is a moment when all members of the team should step up and help turn things around. Quoting his words: “We’re in a position where everybody needs to step up and help turn this around.”

“This isn’t a time to get our violins out. We need to step up and deal with these situations.”
