The manager of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has revealed that he would not coach any other Premier League club aside from his current club.
The 50-year-old Spanish tactician has been the coach of Manchester City since 2016. He joined the club after a successful spell at FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Since he arrived at the Premier League club, Pep Guardiola has been dominating the league and putting every other club on their toes.
In his five years at Manchester City, Guardiola has helped the club to win three Premier League titles, one FA Cup title, four EFL titles, two FA Community Shield, and led the club to the 2020-2021 UEFA Champions League final.
The Spanish tactician signed a new contract with Manchester City last season which will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2023 with a possibility of extending his stay at the Premier League side.
However, the unexpected could happen that could make Pep Guardiola leave Manchester City before or after the expiration of his contract with the Manchester-based club.
Ahead of Manchester City Premier League game against West Ham United which will kick off at 15:00 later today, November 28, Pep Guardiola admitted that his future is not clear yet but he doesn’t see himself at another Premier League club in the future.
He said: “I’ve said many times when we’ve finished our part here, for the pleasure to live in a European Championship, a World Cup, I would like to live it but I know it is not easy to find it because normally there are few positions.
“I think it is difficult for it to happen. I would like it but, at the same time, if it does not happen I will train a club. That is not a problem.
“In England, being here, I think I will always be at Man City. If I had to come back I would come back to Man City, if they want me. I don’t think I am going to train another club in England. I’m a part of this club.”
Pep Guardiola reveals how Manchester City will spend January
In January 2022, there will be a window in which Manchester City will not be too active since they are not involved in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
Hence, Pep Guardiola and his team could travel to Abu Dhabi, the home country of the club’s owner, Sheikh Mansour, for a training camp.
The coach said: “Maybe it is possible. Just being together there – getting out a bit, changing the routine, training in good weather conditions and a good environment, being close to our chairman, spending time together, good dinners together, pool, sun.
“We are not going for a holiday, but to work. Rather than stay here, do it there.”
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola and his boys need to beat West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium later today to continue to put pressure on the league leaders, Chelsea.
City are currently sitting on the third spot on the league table with 26 points in 12 games, three points away from first-placed Chelsea. If they beat West Ham and Chelsea fail to beat Manchester United later today, City and Chelsea will be on equal point.
Also, West Ham United are expected to beat Manchester City to remain stronger on the 4th spot. They are currently occupying the 4th spot with 23 points in 12 games, on equal points with 5th placed Arsenal.
