The manager of Liverpool football club, Jurgen Klopp has insisted that he is used to final day drama as Liverpool continue with their fight for a top-four finish later today, May 13, 2021, at 16:00.

The 2020-2021 Premier League season is coming to an end today and all the last league games of the season will be played at the same time. Manchester City have already won the league title three matchdays ago and those that would be relegated from the league have already known themselves.

Recall that Sheffield United, West Brom, and Fulham have already known their fate that they are the three clubs that will leave the league at the end of this season.

But there is only one battle that has not been settled which is the battle of who would join Manchester City and Manchester United in the top four at the end of today.

There are just two slots that are still up for grabs, which are the 3rd spot and the 4th spot on the league table which means that the clubs that are currently occupying the 3rd to the 5th spot on the league table would know their final spot later today.

Those clubs concerned are 3rd placed Chelsea with 67 points in 37 games, 4th placed Liverpool with 66 points in 37 games, and 5th placed Leicester City with the same number of points as Liverpool.

Ahead of a must-win Premier League match between Liverpool and Crystal Palace, Jurgen Klopp who had said the target of Liverpool is to finish in the top four noted that he is used to the present situation of the season.

The German tactician who had coached Mainz and Borussia Dortmund before he joined Liverpool in 2015 stressed that he has experienced similar situations when he was a coach in German Bundesliga.

Jurgen Klopp said: “I can’t remember a season when it didn’t go to the wire because it was pretty much a final or we had to fight to the last matchday for qualification for the Champions League.

“Even at Dortmund it was like this, at Mainz it was to stay in the league or when we got promoted. I am really used to stress until the last matchday.”

On what Liverpool did to return to reckoning after the club slipped from the top spot on the league table to the 8th in March 2021, Jurgen Klopp said: We found stability, created confidence again or got it back, scored goals in the right moments, and conceded less, that helped as well.

“It was just what we had to do so far, but honestly all the numbers you mention are nothing to do with Sunday. These three games are that important pretty much anything can happen and it makes sense to know that before the game.

“No one should expect a perfect game with an early lead, we have to fight for it. I respect Crystal Palace too much, they want to give everything for Roy (Hodgson) in his last game as manager. It will still be a tough cookie.”

Unlike 5th placed Leicester City, the destiny of Liverpool is in the hands of Jurgen Klopp and his boys. All they need to do is to beat Crystal Palace with any goal margin and the win would guarantee them a place in the league’s top four ahead of next season.
