Thomas Tuchel is reportedly looking forward to being a football manager of one of the top clubs in the Premier League less than a week after he was sacked as the manager of Paris Saint Germain.

Recently, a German publication, BILD, claimed that Thomas Tuchel’s focus is on landing his next job in the Premier League but didn’t confirm the exact club the tactician might be heading to.

However, the publication earlier claimed that Tuchel’s most likely destination in the Premier League could be in London, Chelsea in particular, if Frank Lampard’s poor run of games at the club continues.

Chelsea are currently occupying the 6th spot on the league table with 26 points in 16 league games after recording 7 wins, 5 draws, and 4 defeats. This is not the position the club envisaged to be in this season after spending over £200 million during the 2020 summer transfer window.

Hence, if the drop in the ranking of the club continues, Frank Lampard might take the stick any time soon and Thomas Tuchel might be his replacement.

The sack of the 47-year-old German tactician by PSG on Thursday shocked most football fans because the tactician was leading PSG in the right direction. It was confirmed that the coach has been sacked a night after he led the club to win Strasbourg 4-0 in a Ligue 1 game.

Before then, he led the French club to qualify for the next round of the 2020-2021 UEFA Champions League as group H table toppers. And PSG was just a point behind French Ligue 1 table toppers, Lyon, before Thomas Tuchel was sacked.

More so, Tuchel created history at PSG by leading the French side to their first UEFA Champions League final at the end of the 2019-2020 season. In his two seasons at the club, he won the Ligue 1 title two successive times.

With this profile, the German tactician can fit into any club as a manager. He did not only win titles and made a record at PSG, but he was also able to manage two of the finest players in the world of football, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Though there was no concrete reason why PSG sacked him, an official statement from the French club said they had to let him go based on “sporting situation”.

“After an in-depth analysis of its sporting situation, Paris Saint-Germain decided to terminate Thomas Tuchel’s contract”, PSG said.

“Thomas Tuchel became PSG coach in July 2018, going on to manage the capital club 127 times in all competitions, with 95 wins, 13 draws and 19 defeats (337 goals scored, 103 conceded).

“His trophy haul covers two Ligue 1 titles in 2019 and 2020, the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue in 2020, two Trophees de Champions in 2018 and 2019 as well as leading Paris Saint-Germain to the first Champions League final in the club’s history last August.

While the chairman of PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi said, “I would like to thank Thomas Tuchel and his staff for all they have contributed to the club.

“Thomas has put a lot of energy and passion into the job, and we will of course remember the good moments we shared.”
