Despite being released by Championship club, Brighton boss, Graham Potter believes new signing, Danny Welbeck still has a lot to offer.
Welbeck, who left Arsenal as a free agent last season got his contract terminated by the Vicarage Road outfit in January and then returned to the Premier League to link up with Brighton.
The English man has now signed a one-year contract with the club after scoring twice for Watford in 18 Premier League games.

Why Potter signed Welbeck for Brighton
On his part, Potter believes Welbeck has a lot of time ahead of him. The forward was an unused substitute for the Seagulls against West Brom on Monday. So, his debut will have to wait.
Welbeck who had a stint with Manchester United and Arsenal player scored 16 goals in 42 caps for the English national team, with his last appearances coming in 2018.
Speaking on the confidence he has in the English striker, Potter believes Welbeck could reproduce the impressive form shown in the past for England and United. This, he admitted is a challenge for him and the club.
“Well, that’s the challenge for me, for the club, and for Danny. He’s only 29. He has got a lot of time ahead of him.
“It can happen in a career that, for whatever reason, it doesn’t happen at a club. There could be lots of factors.
“From our perspective, we’ve got a guy with incredible experience and proven quality – you don’t play for the clubs he has played for and play for England the (number of) times he has without that quality.
“He has probably had a bit of a setback in his career, but still wants to play football in this country, still wants to prove he can play at this level,” he said.
One of Welbeck’s top performance was his sensational bicycle kick against Norwich. Potter noted that he could have done other things as they are providing a conducive environment for him to thrive,.
“I am pretty sure. So that says something about his character and ambition.
“Then it’s about providing the environment where he can enjoy his football and be on the pitch as much as he can. We need to find a role for him because he helps the team in and out of possession, and he can threaten in the box. We are delighted with him,” he added.
