Borussia Dortmund has hinted that a move to the Old Trafford for their star player, Jadon Sancho is still a possibility.
Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke stated that Manchester United “misjudged” their transfer pursuit of Sancho this summer, adding that a deal is not dead in the water for him.
This is expected to reignite United’s interest in the England winger, having failed to land their other alternative as well.
United made Sancho their number one priority before signing Edison Cavani, Alex Tellses, Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri on deadline day.
Having been heavily linked with a move for the England star, the Red Devils were reluctant to pay the £108m fee that the Bundesliga giants wanted.
However, with this recent comment from the club’s hierachy, there is still a belief that United will go in for Sancho again, either in January or next summer.

Watzke, who stated that United would have been smarter about their business in a difficult transfer, said they misjudged the situation.
“[They] misjudged the situation. We had a clear line and will continue to do so next summer. In this industry, you can never say that a player is completely unsellable.
“I heard and read everywhere in the spring that Sancho was gone. But he’s here. We had an agreement with him.”
Meanwhile, coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is now focusing on the season after the transfer window has shut. He made a good start afterward with a 4-1 win over Newcastle United at St. James Park.
Late goals from Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernades, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka ensured maximum points for Solksjaer’s men on the road.
Speaking after the game, he said the schedule of the club means that he will have to rotate his team based on their type of opposition.
“We have so many games coming up and you pick a team that you think is going to get a result in that game.
“You look at the opposition and you look at yourself and what is the best balance and I thought we found the right one today.
“There were some very good performances from the ones who came in since last time and the ones who came off the bench did really well.
“The ones who stayed on the bench as well – they were our supporters tonight so there was a great attitude and team spirit,” Solskjaer said.
It is hoped that the new signings will settle in and avoid be available for selection for the task ahead.
