    Francesco Totti is considering coming out of retirement after being contacted by Serie A clubs.

    Speaking with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Totti indicated his shock at receiving offers to return to football despite calling time on his career in 2017.

    He said: “In life, you can never say never. There have already been players in the past that have returned to play after a couple of years.

    “Some Serie A clubs have contacted me recently. It happened a month ago and it brought some thoughts to my head. 

    “I told myself, how come after so many years, they’re still asking me? I would be ready in 2 months.”

    The 48-year-old also backed himself to deliver if he returns to the game, giving the present level of the Serie A.

    Francesco Totti said: “Given the current level of Serie A I could easily make an impact on the field.”

    Francesco Totti Reveals Club He Won’t Play For If He Comes Out Of Retirement 

    It is uncertain if he will return to AS Roma, a club he played for all through his over 2-decade-long career.

    However, Totti has categorically stated that he won’t play for city rivals Lazio if he comes out of retirement.

    Francesco Totti said: “Lazio? I wouldn’t have even considered it.”

    The Italian great also gave a timeframe regarding when he would be ready to return to football.

    The 38-year-old shared: “I’d be ready in two to three months. I’m still playing at 48. Half an hour, twenty minutes. If I had to do something crazy, I’d do it in Italy, not abroad, but it’s crazy.

    “When you turn the page you never know what awaits you. It wasn’t my choice, but in that moment it has to be experienced differently from the context.

    “Maybe that’s also why I’ve had that thing inside me. It’s true that there’s a beginning and an end to everything.”
