Ex-German footballer Max Kruse has opened up on battle with hemorrhoids, which he reveals he has been coping with for a decade.

The former Germany international retired recently following a career that was marked with countless controversies. He is currently among the contestants for the German Big Brother Show.

Speaking to his fellow housemates on the show, the 36-year-old opened up on how he has lived with piles for 10 years and admitted to never going to a Doctor regarding the pains.

“I have been fighting a running battle with them for ten years.” The German international said regarding the hemorrhoids.

On why he never went to a Doctor, he said: “I am no fan of the idea of using the sort of chair a woman sits on at the gynecologist’s surgery to have my backside looked at, then someone will fumble around in my rear end. I still struggle to cope with the idea.”

Some of his housemates expressed dismay at having to share the same toilet and pool with him. He was also advised to visit a Doctor once he leaves the house.

Kruse also opened up earlier this week about the controversy that led to him being dropped from the Germany 2014 World Cup squad after being caught with a sex worker in London. The former footballer would have been a part of Germany’s 2014 World Cup-winning squad but was denied the chance due to the sex scandal.

He was also known to partake in a game of poker, regularly competing at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Max Bennet Kruse, born March 19, 1988, was a German footballer who played as a center forward.

Kruse was born in Reinbek, Kreis Stormarn, Schleswig-Holstein in the north-eastern periphery of Hamburg. He was raised in Reinbek, Hamburg.

Max Kruse career

Kruse began his career with his hometown club TSV Reinbek. He, however, made his professional senior debut with Werder Bremen, where he spent three years, featuring in 72 games and scoring seven goals.

After his spell with Bremen, he moved to FC St. Pauli following his and spent three seasons with the German side. He played 100 games with them and scored 22 goals in that period.

From SC Pauli, Kruse was transferred to SC Freiburg where he spent just a season with the club, scoring 12 goals in 39 appearances. From Freiburg, he joined Borussia Monchengladbach, spent two seasons with the club, played 77 games and scored 25 goals.

VFL Wolfsburg was his next stop after Borussia Monchengladbach. He spent just one season with the club, scoring nine goals in 43 appearances.

A reunion with Werder Bremen was next on the cards for the striker. On his return, he spent three seasons with the side and scored a decent 35 goals in 92 games.

After the reunion with Bremen, Kruse took his career off the shores of Germany to Turkey. He signed with Turkish side Fenerbahce but spent just a season with the club, made 23 appearances, and scored on seven different occasions.

He returned to Germany following his stint in Turkey, signing with Union Berlin. At Union Berlin, Kruse spent two seasons and scored 19 goals in 45 outings.

He rejoined Wolfsburg afterward and scored seven goals in 19 games in a two-year career. His last stop was Bundesliga II side SC Paderborn where he featured just five times before terminating. Contract. And calling time on his career.
