Sevilla have sealed a permanent move for out-of-favor French footballer, Lucien Agoume from Inter Milan.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the La Liga side have agreed to a €4m transfer fee with a 50% sell-on clause for the player.
The report adds the youngster is set to sign a contract as a permanent Sevilla player, marking the end of his dragging loan spells since he joined the Serie A champions in 2019.
Agoume is Sevilla’s sixth signing this summer, joining the likes of Saul Niguez, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Chidera Ejuke, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Peque Fernandez.
Who is Lucien Agoume?
Lucien Jefferson Agoume is a French professional football player, who played for Serie A giants as a midfielder but is now set for a new chapter with European giants Sevilla. Agoume has yet to make an appearance for France’s senior national team but has played for different levels of the French youth teams. He is currently active with France U-21 side.
Lucien Agoume career
Agoume began his youth career with Clemenceau in France in 2013. In the same year, he switched to Racing Besancon Youth Academy, played for a year with the team, and then joined Sochaux Academy in 2014.
At Sochaux Academy, the ambitious young footballer groomed his career for four years till 2018, before being poached by Inter Milan to the San Siro.
At Inter Milan, he was assigned to the club’s academy, where he further honed his footballing skills for an additional year. While still playing for Inter Milan youth teams, he was given a chance at first-team football.
Agoume Inter Milan struggles
Agoume joined Inter Milan on a deal worth €4.5m, signing a three-year contract. Note that before he switched to the Serie A giants, he had a taste of first-team football with Sochaux from 2018 to 2019, making 19 league appearances for the club.
However, he was down the pecking order in Italy and had his career juggled between Inter Milan’s youth teams and the club’s senior squad. Throughout his spell with the Serie A giants, he only managed 4 Serie A appearances and was loaned to four different clubs.
Agoume loan spells while at Inter Milan
The 22-year-old was first loaned to Spezia in the 2020-21 season, where he made 12 league appearances for the club. The next season, he joined another Serie A outfit, Brest, on loan and registered 27 appearances for the club.
In the 2022-23 campaign, he went on his third loan spell to Troyes and made 15 league appearances. He spent last season on loan at Sevilla, who have now decided to sign him permanently following his impressive campaign with the club.

In all competitions, Agoume made 17 appearances for Sochaux, 4 for Inter Milan, 30 for Spezia, 30 for Brest, and 15 in his first loan spell with Sevilla. Notably, he has scored at all levels of French youth teams that he has played for, except in his two appearances with France’s U-21 squad. He has featured 44 times from France’s U-16s to the U-21s.

Agoume reportedly has one year left on his Juventus contract but has now ended his spell with the club following the permanent switch to Sevilla. According to Fabrizio Romano, the 22-year-old has penned down a four-year contract with Sevilla.
