A video circulated online recently showing Manchester United legend Roy Keane allegedly elbowing an Arsenal fan who headbutted him in unjustifiable violence.
The SkySports Pundit took to the stands at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on May 29, 2024, to give evidence against the Arsenal fan named Scott Law.
On the other hand, Scott Law denied engaging in a common assault on Roy Keane. The Arsenal fan allegedly assaulted Keane in the closing stage of the Arsenal vs. Manchester United game in September 2023.
Keane and his partner, Micah Richards, were on commentary duties before the incident occurred. Scott Law noticed Keane celebrate after Alejandro Garnacho scored a late goal in the second half of the game.
The goal was later cancelled for offside. The Arsenal fan rushed to confront Keane after the goal was canceled by VAR and allegedly headbutted Keane backward through a set of doors.
Roy Keane suffered injuries to his arms and chest. He told the court that “we missed the final two goals, but that was the least of my worries.”
However, the Scott Law statement in court was entirely different. The Arsenal fan informed the court that he acted in self-defense against Roy Keane, who attacked him while he was on his way to the toilet.
Roy Keane partner Micah Richards is expected to attend the next court hearing on Friday, May 31, 2024, to give his own evidence in relation to the case.
