Manchester City will slug it out with West Ham for a fourth consecutive Premier League title on the Premier League final matchday on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

The Premier League and European giants will be the first club in Premier League history to win the Premier League four times on the bounce if they edged out West Ham.

City will need a win against West Ham to beat Arsenal to the Premier League title should Arsenal ease past Everton at the Emirates Stadium.

Speaking in his final press conference this season, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola made a bold prediction of the title-deciding clash with the Hammers.

“I would like Manchester City to go three goals up in the first half but I have the feeling it is going to the tough. It could be like the Aston Villa match in 2022,” Guardiola said.

In 2022, Manchester City were dragged to the final matchday of the Premier League following a heated title tussle with Liverpool.

It nearly ended in a defeat for the Cityzens. Aston Villa went two goals up in the first half at Etihad but City made a dramatic comeback in the second half to win 3-2 at the death.

The win saw Guardiola rake home his third Premier League title with just a point better than runners-up Liverpool.

The Spaniard believes the West Ham match may also end up as the Aston Villa clash with his team winning by a slim margin.

While Guardiola is hoping for nothing less from a win on Sunday, the Premier League dominos could also be done a huge favor if Everton pull a surprise against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.
