Mohamed Elneny has confirmed that he will be departing Arsenal in the summer of 2024 after nearly a decade at the club.
Elneny is currently the longest-serving player at the North London club, having joined the Gunners on January 14, 2016, from FC Basel for a fee of €12.50 million.
Mohamed Elneny will bid farewell to Arsenal when his contract expires at the end of the campaign, signifying the culmination of his about 8-and-a-half-year relationship with the North London side.

In a heartfelt video shared on social media, the midfielder on Friday, May 17, 2024, bade his goodbye to the Gunners, whilst sending his appreciation to the fans.
Elneny in the video put out on Instagram said: “Gooners, I’m here today to send you a message, to say goodbye and thank you for everything you’ve done for me.
“The love, the support, and the kindness. I’m really going to miss you so much and you’ll be in my heart forever.”
Mohamed Elneny affirmed that he will “never forget” the manner in which Arsenal fans have supported him, saying:
“I wanted to say how much I love you and how much you mean to me. I will never forget the way you supported me.
“I’m going to see you on Sunday at the Emirates to say goodbye face to face, see you then.”

Mohamed Elneny has made 161 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 6 goals and providing 10 assists.
The 31-year-old has been a popular figure at the North London club, despite his playing time reducing greatly.
Elneny has battled with injury in recent seasons and he was given a fresh one-year contract extension in February 2023.
Mohamed Elneny was handed the contract despite battling a critical knee issue, which made him feature just 8 times for Arsenal during the 2022/23 season.
In the 2023/24 season, the Egyptian has played just 6 games for Mikel Arteta’s side, who are batting to win the Premier League title.
The only game he has started this campaign was in December 2023, when Arteta altered his side against Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven with qualification to the knockout phase already secured.
Elneny will be handed the opportunity to say goodbye to the Arsenal fans at the Emirates on Sunday, May 19, 2024, with the Gunners welcoming Sean Dyche’s Everton.
Mikel Arteta’s side are aiming for a victory in front of their home fans, whilst hoping that Manchester City falter in their fixture against West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium.
If the Cityzens lose against David Moyes’ side and Arsenal defeats the Toffees, it would be the first time that the North London side will be winning the English Premier League since the 2003/04 campaign.
