Premier League and Manchester United legend Roy Keane slammed Manchester City star Erling Haaland during Manchester City’s 5-1 victory over Wolves in the Premier League.
Erling Haaland spun away from his chasers in the race for the 2023/24 Premier League Golden Award with his four-goal haul this season against the Gary O’Neil-led side.
The Norwegian sensation scored a first-half hat-trick before adding to his tally with a 54th-minute strike, thanks to an assist by Phil Foden.
After a sterling outing for the Premier League title hopefuls, he was subbed off for Jeremy Doku with 8 minutes of regulation time left.
On the bench, the prolific forward looked unhappy with the substitution despite his 82-minute shift. United legend and Premier League pundit is one of the few who saw the egg-faced star apparently furious with Pep Guardiola’s decision to sub him off.
“We saw Haland yesterday being brought off, not too happy, [he was] behaving like a spoiled brat.”
”I think when you have the spat as well with the manager and obviously your Star Man, it doesn’t help that results aren’t going your way. But because they win the game, he scores goals, it’s almost forgotten about.”
It is not the first time Roy Keane has tore into Erling Haaland this season. The Premier League pundit called the 2022/23 Premier League Golden Boot winner a ‘League Two Player’ after his disappointing outing against Arsenal in an earlier Premier League fixture.
When quizzed about his take on the ‘League Two Player’ comment by Keane, Haaland aimed a subtle dig on the pundit, saying he doesn’t care to listen to him
It has been a less-than-stellar campaign for the former Borussia Dortmund forward this term compared to his debut campaign with the Cityzens. However, his four-goal haul against Wolves has put him in commanding control of the Premier League Golden Boot race.
Haaland could become the first Premier League player to win the Premier League Golden Boot Award two times on the bounce after his debut campaign.
