A crisis is brimming at West Ham United over the future of the club’s manager and former Man United boss David Moyes.

David Moyes, 61, is set to run out of his West Ham contract at the end of the season.

Futballnews understands West Ham have been locked in talks and negotiations with the Scott for a likely extension. However, sources close to the London outfit reveal the Europa Conference League winner is more likely to leave at the end of the season.

David Moyes’ imminent departure from the dugout at London Stadium has been linked to his tense relationship with the club’s technical director Steidten.

According to the Sun, Steidten, who was appointed as West Ham’s technical director in July 2023, is the one engineering the move for David Moyes to leave at the end of the season.

He was the one who engineered talks with Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim while the West Ham United board were also on the negotiation table with David Moyes.

Having worked with Bayer Leverkusen and Werder Bremen in the German elite division, Steidten reportedly commands a huge influence in West Ham, including the club’s dressing room.

It is understood he doesn’t want the club to renew terms with David Moyes and is leading the move to find a replacement for the Scot as the latter rounds up his seven-year spell with the club.

Now, according to reports, West Ham have ordered him to stay away from David Moyes and the club’s dressing in the final three matches of the season.

The decision is understood to be an attempt by the club to forestall possible tensions between the German and David Moyes.

While the position of the club’s board on David Moyes’ future is unknown, it is understood Steidten is likely to prevail on who mans the dugout at West Ham United next season due to his overarching influence at the club.

As things stand, David Moyes is more likely to leave at the end of the season as no new deal has been brokered with only three matches left to the end of the season.
