The 2023/24 Premier League title has narrowed down to a two-horse race with Liverpool literally ruled out of the race.
Arsenal and Manchester City are still going toe-to-toe with the Gunners leading by a point but have played one game more than City.
A three-goal scoring rout in the first half saw the Gunners breeze past Tottenham Hotspur in their last game to keep tabs on the title race. They will take on Bournemouth in their next fixture before clashing with Man United, and then wrapping up the season against Everton.
Manchester City glided past Nottingham Forest at City Ground to keep pressure on the Gunners in their last fixture. They will take on Wolves, Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United in that order in their last four games.
The final run-ins of matches will be crucial in the title race for the two teams. Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola has already made a bold prediction on Arsenal’s title chances.
Speaking ahead of City’s clash with Wolves on Saturday, May 4, the Spaniard said Arsenal will win all their remaining matches but he would prefer they lose.
“We prefer they lose but we cannot control what they do.
“They made a good result. There are four games left. I think they are not going to lose any points.”
Should Arsenal win all their remaining games, Manchester City will equally have to ace all their remaining games to win the title.
While the Spaniard seems to be playing mind games on Arsenal ahead of the final run-in of matches, it is understood the comment is also a charge to his players not to slip in all their four remaining matches.
It is still expected to be an unpredictable title race between the two teams, unlike last season when the Cityzens pipped the Gunners to the title earlier in the campaign.
The projections are that the 2023/24 Premier League title race may likely be decided on the final gameweek of the season.
