Thomas Tuchel has expressed that he will not allow himself to be “influenced” by a petition beckoning on him to remain as manager of Bayern Munich.

The petition requesting for Tuchel to remain as boss of the Bavarian giants has been signed by over 16,000 supporters.

Bayern Munich revealed in February 2024 that Thomas Tuchel will depart the club at the end of the campaign, a year before his contract expires.

Speaking on the petition calling for him to remain at the Allianz Arena, Tuchel said:

“Even though this topic is good for me when they [the fans] wish you to stay, it’s not something that is a priority.

“It isn’t allowed to be a priority. In the next 11 days, it’s only about football, nothing else. Whether it’s pleasant or unpleasant, I don’t allow myself to be influenced by it.”

Meanwhile, Ralf Ragnick, former Interim manager of Manchester United, has held talks with Bayern Munich over replacing the ex-Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel in the summer of 2024.

Speaking on a panel discussion for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Bayern Munich’s former President Uli Hoeneß also informed the public that the Munich-based club is discussing with Austrian boss Ragnick.

Uli Hoeneß said: “Yes, there are talks ongoing with Ralf Rangnick.

“I think we will have a decision within a week.”

Moreover, during the presser ahead of Bayern Munich’s league clash against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, April 27, 2024, Tuchel also shared that it is the club’s responsibility to appoint his successor.

Thomas Tuchel also indicated that he has put his headphones in “noise-canceling mode” to ignore the rumors flying around.”

The former Chelsea man’s time at the Allianz Arena saw the team fail to win the German Bundesliga for the first time in over a decade after they won the league title in 11 consecutive seasons.

They have also been grossly underwhelming this campaign, with the team sitting 2nd on the table, having picked up 66 points from 30 matches thus far.

Bayern Munich are 14 points off 2023/24 German Bundesliga winners Bayer Leverkusen, who are having a great season under the tutelage of Thomas Tuchel.

Leverkusen are gunning for the treble this season, with the DFB-Pokal and UEFA Europa League still up for grabs this term.

Despite the acquisition of stars like Harry Kane, Kim Min-Jae, and Lucas Hernandez, Bayern Munich faltered shockingly this season.

Having seen their display this season, the administrators of the Allianz Arena side thought it wise to end their ties with Tuchel at the end of the campaign.

Anyway, they still have the UEFA Champions League to battle for, as they face Real Madrid in a customary two-legged semi-final; with the first installment holding on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, while the second holds on May 8, 2024.
