Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim has broken his silence after holding talks with Premier League Club West Ham United.

We reported earlier the in-demand young manager was seen boarding a flight from Portugal to London for transfer talks with West Ham United.

According to Fabrizio Romano, West Ham presented their project before the 39-year-old but nothing has been agreed yet with the Portuguese still open to other options.

Futballnews understands Liverpool are also interested in a move for Ruben Amorim but are yet to convene talks with the highly-rated manager.

The Reds will lose Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season and are eyeing Amorim as a potential successor after their failed attempt to lure Bundesliga-winning Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso to Anfield.

While the Reds still hold a concrete and solid interest in Amorim, they are now set to face a tough rivalry from West Ham United for the services of the Primeira Liga winner.

Meanwhile, interest on how Ruben Amorim’s talks with West Ham went has continued to surge despite Fabrizio Romano’s recent update.

Amorim, who broke his silence on West Ham’s interest after the meeting, refused to keep his audience in the know when asked about how the meeting went.

Walking back for his flight to Portugal after the meeting, he was grilled by journalists on how it panned out. And he only had a quick cheeky reply, “All went well. Nothing much. That is all I can say.”

His response was smeared with a smile breaking down his cheek before he zoomed off from the journalists to his flight and flew off.

The league-leading manager has a contract with Sporting Lisbon until 2026 but could leave the club at the end of the season amidsts interests from Europe’s top clubs.

He has a release clause of £12.8m on his contract which could be triggered in the summer.
