Uruguayan and Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has launched his new book days after Barcelona crashed out of the Champions League.

In a tweet shared by @BarcaVerse_, Araujo could be seen walking up to the stage and officially launching his book.

While details of the book have yet to be disclosed, the title reads, “Relatis Solidaris de L’espor,” which translates as “solidarity stories from hope.”

Footballers taking time off their tight schedules to collate their thoughts in a book is a rare occurrence. Ronald Araujo seems to have broken the barrier with his think-piece. However, his book launch came just days after Barcelona crashed out of the Champions League, losing 4-1 at home in the quarterfinal second leg to PSG.

Araujo dropped a stinker performance in the game and was blamed by fans and some of his teammates for the loss. His clumsy challenge on Bradley Barcola earned him a red card which turned the game upside down immediately from the first half.

Barcelona were leading PSG before his red card. But after the red card, PSG equalised before the break and went on to score three more goals in the second half to eliminate the LaLiga giants with a thumping aggregate victory.

Barcelona midfielder IIkay Gundogan blasted Araujo for the red card, insisting his challenge was uncalled-for and made the team give away the game.

When asked about IIkay Gundogan’s comment, Araujo reserved it but was soberly on social media, saying he was “hit hard” by football after the red card.

“The football that gave me so much joy now hits me hard. I thank all those who are unconditionally by my side, my teammates who left everything on the field, and the fans who believed in this team until the end. I am very sorry not to give you this joy. We will try again. Força Barça, forever! God in control,” he wrote on X.

Meanwhile, his new book launch has been overshadowed by the red card in the incident, and it is believed the footballer has probably addressed the incident in his new piece.
