The UEFA Champions League encounter at the Santiago Bernabeu involving Real Madrid and Manchester City had all the thriller of a blockbuster fixture as the match ended in a pulsating 3-3 draw.

Real Madrid started the game at a frenetic pace as Vinicius Junior’s cross was cleared to safety by the Manchester City defense.

It was the Citizens that took the lead through a brilliant Free kick by Bernardo Silva as he curled the ball beyond the stranded Andriy Lunin.

The home side came roaring back as Camavinga saw his scoffed shot ricochet off Ruben Dias and past the helpless Stefan Ortega.

Rodrygo turned the game on its head as his superb quick feet saw the Brazilian evade past multiple challenges before slotting the ball under Stefan Ortega.

Real Madrid and Manchester City produced a cracker of a contest

Manchester City dominated possession as they gingerly passed the ball from left to right but the Madrid team was content pressuring the City players, feeding off lose passes.

Fede Valverde saw his shot comfortably saved by Ortega. Meanwhile, Vinicius Junior subsequently looked to break free with the ball but he saw his shot fly away over the bar.

Francoise  Letexier blew his whistle after a series of fouls from both teams. The Referee had to calm the nerves of both teams.

Jack Grealish had a crack from inside of the box as the defender managed to get a block.

Erling Haaland again looked lost as his only meaningful contribution was a foul on Rudiger.

The first half ended with the Galacticos leading 2-1.

Pep Guardiola’s side came out of the blocks in the second half as they dominated the possession stat.

Phil Foden who was relatively quiet in the first half half saw his shot cleared by the impressive Tony Rudiger.

Their dominance soon paid off as Foden saw a pitch of a goal after unleashing a rocket of a strike to pull the citizens’ level.

Five minutes later Josko Gvardiol got his first goal for his team and it was worth the wait. The Croatian received the ball on the edge of the box from Jack Grealish before unleashing an unstoppable strike to give his side the lead.

The away team was in a frenzy as the city supporters raised their voices to cheer their side on.

But the Real Madrid side we’ve known throughout the years, came back roaring as they pressured the city team looking to get the equalizer.

Luka Modric, a second-half substitute controlled the tempo of the game showing real class to outsmart the city midfield.

Federico Valverde’s astonishing effort in the dying embers of the magnificent affair

It was the iconic number 10 that orchestrated Real Madrid’s 3rd goal of the night, with a swift pass to Vinicius Junior who lifted a delightful cross to the back post for Fede Valverde to draw his side level, with an audacious strike to send the Benebeau crowd into ecstasy.

Both sides looked for the win but couldn’t get the winner as the match ended all square.

Manchester City will hope to finish off this Madrid team as they did last season after defeating the Galacticos at the Etihad, while Real Madrid will be buoyed by their comeback as they seek to send the reigning champions out of the UEFA Champions League.
