Jurgen Klopp was overly unimpressed with Manchester United’s style of play as the Red Devils defied the odds to salvage a point against the Merseyside outfit.

After last season’s thumping win over the Old Trafford club, Jurgen Klopp has faced Manchester United three times this season – once in the FA Cup and twice in the Premier League.

At Anfield in Premier League first-leg clash, United defied the odds to share spoils with the treble-chasers as they settled for a barren draw.

In the FA Cup, a late goal by Amad Diallo saw the Red Devils get the better of the Premier League title hopefuls with a dramatic 4-3 victory.

On Sunday, April 7, the two sides locked horns in the reverse fixture of the Premier League, and it ended in a draw again.

Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo scored stunning goals as the Red Devils fought the visitors to a thrilling 2-2 draw, denting their Premier League title hopes.

While Jurgen Klopp has been winless against Manchester United this season in all three meetings, the German tactician insisted his team performed far better than the Old Trafford outfit and he wouldn’t consider the draw as ‘two-points dropped.’

In what could be seen as a subtle dig at United, Jurgen Klopp said his side has been completely dominant over the three meetings, including the most recent.

In his words, since he became Liverpool manager, he has never seen his side dominate Manchester United like they did in the last three meetings.

“For all the time I was the coach here at Liverpool, I don’t think we dominated United like we did in these two games,” he said.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager added his side were just unlucky not to win at Old Trafford due to an excessive profligacy with clearcut chances.

“But unfortunately, we didn’t get the result we wanted.”

Liverpool completely dominated proceedings in the 2-2 draw against United. They recorded 14 attempts in the first half of the game with United failing to fire a single shot on target. The Reds doubled up the attempts in the second half, recording 28 in all against United’s 9.

They also won more corners (11) than United, who managed 6. The draw has seen the club drop to second on the Premier League table with 71 points, the same points as league leaders Arsenal, who boast a superior goal difference.
