Barcelona President Joan Laporta has revealed the fact that his club rejected an offer of €200 million for the Spanish youngster Lamine Yamal.
Joan Laporta revealed this while addressing the press, saying, “We are getting offers for players like Lamine Yamal for €200 million, and we have said no. We trust the boy in his sports projection, and we do not have the need, on the contrary, to sell him.”
In the month of March 2024, it was revealed that Paris Saint-Germain offered a whopping amount of €200 million to Barcelona for the service of Yamal.
The Ligue 1 reigning Champions view Yamal as the ideal long-term replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who is likely to join Real Madrid next season.
The 16-year-old superstar is widely regarded as one of the most outstanding young players in the world. The Spaniard had been a regular player for Barcelona this season, scoring six goals and creating seven in 39 appearances.
Yamal had broken a lot of records during his outstanding start to his career. The player is the youngest to set up a La Liga goal in the 21st century.
Currently, he is with the Spanish national team ahead of the international friendly match against Brazil on March 26, 2024.
He signed a new contract with Barcelona in October 2023, with the contract ending in June 2026. In addition, there is a €1 billion release clause in his contract.
