Bayern Munich is happy to announce the return of their top striker, Poland international, Robert Lewandowski. Lewandowski, is best known for his positioning, technique, and finishing. He is often regarded as one of the best strikers of his generation. After a 25 day stitch on the sidelines, the top notch striker has returned and ready for action.
Robert Lewandowski is reported to have resumed full team training today, this comes 25 days after having a minor operation on his groin. Unfortunately due to this, th Polish superstar missed Bayern’s winter training camp in Qatar in order to work individually with a team of coaches and physiotherapists at Säbener Strasse. His return is said to be much welcome as he has a big impact on the team and their playing style.
After a brief, individual warm-up, Lewandowski joined the rest of the squad for what was reported to be “secret tactical training” with Hansi Flick. The session took place on a closed training pitch, away from the eyes of the press and the public. They were likely working on specific tactics they’ll deploy against Berlin.
At this point, the striker should be in contention to start Bayern’s opening match of the Rückrunde against Hertha Berlin. Earlier this week, Lewandowski completed a full diagnostics session in the weight room at Säbener Strasse, after which he was deemed fit enough to resume full team training. After returning from his own injury, Serge Gnabry could also be in contention to be in the squad to face Berlin.
As an added bonus for Lewandowski, he was also just named to UEFA’s team of the year for 2019 after an incredible calendar year for both club and country. For him, it was another year full of records, milestones, and more silverware to add to his trophy cabinet.
