Manchester United pulled a sensational comeback at Old Trafford to salvage a dramatic win over Brentford.

United started the game on a good note dominating proceedings as they hoped to reverse a winless streak at Old Trafford in three matches .

Erik ten Hag had earlier fired a warning to the players before the game urging the squad to stay United and embrace the challenge of coming out stronger after the poor run of results.

Against Brentford, it was a pretty dicey tie for the Red Devils as they previously suffered a shock away defeat to the team last season under ten Hag’s watch.

Thomas Frank seemed to have an edge over Erik ten Hag when taking on the Red Devils and today’s tie at Old Trafford was no different.

While Manchester United had a commanding control of proceedings going forward, Brentford seemed pretty strong at the back sitting deep to defend while hoping to catch the hosts on counter attacks.

It was not long before their efforts paid off as they ended up taking the lead against the run of play in the first half thanks to Jensen’s strike.

Manchester United headed into the break heads down as they closed in on the brink of a fourth consecutive home defeat at Old Trafford.

United started the second half still on a brighter note trying to force through an equaliser but Brentford held on to maintain the lead.

The Red Devils failed to break the goal deadlock with the first half far spent as Brentford sat deep to defend Jensen’s 26th minute lead.

Antony was brought on after the hour mark. The Brazilian made his first Premier League appearance as he returned from investigations into assault charges by his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin.

Coming on for Mason Mount on the flanks, Antony spiced up United’s attack and helped ramp up the pressure on the visitors.

After a marathon of pacey offensives, United finally slice open the brick wall defense of the visitors to finally fired in an equaliser in the 93rd minute courtesy of Scott McTominay’s strike.

Four minutes after leveling the scores, McTominay struck again in the 97th minute to bag his brace and complete a dramatic late comeback for the Red Devils.

It was a brilliant outing for Manchester United as they escaped a third consecutive defeat at Old Trafford and overturned the game in a flash to salvage a huge win at the death.

Erik ten Hag can now heave a sigh of relief after what could have been United’s worst start to the season since 1962 was reversed with the sheer determination of the players.
